Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, chopped spinach, diced bell pepper, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish lightly, then spread half of the pasta mixture in an even layer on the bottom of the dish.
Carefully place the chicken breasts on top of the first pasta layer, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Season the tops of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper for added flavor.
Generously spoon the creamy ricotta cheese over each chicken breast, spreading it out evenly.
Layer the remaining pasta mixture over the ricotta-covered chicken, ensuring everything is well-covered.
Finish by sprinkling the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top, creating a delicious, cheesy crust.
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil to retain moisture, and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, carefully remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and a lovely golden color forms.
Once baked, allow the casserole to rest for at least 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a burst of flavor and color.
Notes
Serve directly from the baking dish for a beautiful presentation.
